Meet the cheesemaker at Mullagha Farm – home to Michael and Jenny Finegan, their family and 400 goats
Today’s farm and cheese-making operation is built on the foundations of an original iron age fort and today’s farm dates back to 1510.
On your guided tour, walk with Michael through the centuries-old farmyard, learn its history, and discover what modern daily life is like for the Finegans.
Continue onto the cheese-making facility, to the maturation room and into the goat sheds to meet the adorable goats that produce the milk tasted in this farm’s award-winning cheeses. The food tour gives you a great insight into the farming culture of the Boyne Valley and the reasons why it is an important hub in Ireland’s modern food culture.
On this tour, as well as meeting the producer, you’ll have the chance to sample wonderful Bán (plain white) and Boyne Valley Blue Cheeses too.
